MILL SPRING, N.C. – The PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Ram Challenger Series will return to the picturesque and world-renowned Tryon International on Aug. 28-29, marking PBR’s sixth consecutive appearance at the venue in Mill Spring, North Carolina.
For two nights only, some of the top bull riders in the world will battle the sport’s rankest bovine athletes in the ultimate showdown of man vs. beast in a series showcasing one of the most exciting live sporting events in the world.
The PBR Ram Challenger Series will host more than 50 events in 30 cities from May through November before concluding with its Championship event Nov. 4-5 in Las Vegas. The series provides additional competitive opportunities for bull riders who are both affiliated and unaffiliated with a PBR Teams league team.
The PBR debuted at Tryon International in 2021, bringing the Velocity Tour to the Tar Heel State as 2018 Rookie of the Year Keyshawn Whitehorse (McCracken Springs, Utah) and Ezekiel Mitchell (Rockdale, Texas) both put together 2-for-3 performances to tie for the event win.
Most recently, in 2025, the event ended in a tie between Michael Lane (Tazewell, Va.) and Jeferson Silva (Pontes e Lacerda, Brazil) as Silva claimed a Round 1 win while Lane won Round 2 to force a gridlock.
Competition kicks off at 8 p.m. ET Friday and 7 p.m. ET Saturday at Tryon International Stadium, where fans will see some of the sport’s best bull riders take on the world’s rankest bulls.
Each of the 35 competing bull riders will attempt one bull in Round 1 on Friday and one bull in Round 2 on Saturday. The Top 10 riders with the highest aggregate score will advance to the championship round for one final ride and a chance at the event title.
For fans wanting to make this one-of-a-kind event even more memorable, VIP tickets are available. Guests can enjoy premium seating closest to the action and much more.
Tickets and premium packages can be purchased online at PBR.com, Tryon.com, or by calling PBR customer service at 1-800-732-1727.
