ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Nashville Stampede and Missouri Thunder remain tied atop the PBR Teams standings after both went 3-0 at Honda Center in Anaheim, improving to league-best 14-6 records following the second neutral site event of the season. Missouri owns the tiebreaker based on points.
The Stampede put up three qualified rides to defeat the Kansas City Outlaws (6-14) 263.7-88.3, to run the table in Anaheim. Nashville’s Gustavo Luiz da Silva (Inocência, Brazil) rode Swisher for 88.15 points, closing out the weekend a perfect 3-for-3 with the ride. The Stampede also got scores from Rogério Venâncio (Paranaita, Brazil) with 88.55 points on Money Hustler, the game’s highest-scoring ride, and Daniel Feitosa (Guaraci, Brazil), besting True Grit for 87 points. Kansas City’s Eric Henrique Domingos (Pérola, Brazil) scored 88.3 points aboard Steppin’ Out in the Outlaw’s lone ride of the game.
In a ride-for-ride matchup, the Austin Gamblers (11-9) edged the Florida Freedom (9-11) 262.9-259.35, recording a 3-0 slate on the weekend and celebrating another major achievement from their franchise player. Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil), three-time PBR World Champion, 2024 PBR Teams Champion, and MVP Race leader, reached another milestone when he conquered OptiWize Rescue Story for 88.45 points – the 400th ride of his storied career. Leme had recently set the mark for consecutive rides in PBR Teams with 13 straight qualified rides, a mark tied today by Paulo Eduardo Rossetto (Colorado, Brazil).
Austin’s Sage Steele Kimzey (Strong City, Okla.) added to the lead in the second with 87.9 points on Texas Slim before Florida’s Alex Cerqueira (Iguatemi, Brazil) bested Intoxicated for 85.9 points in the bottom of the frame to get the Freedom on the board. Austin’s Dener Barbosa (Paulo de Faria, São Paulo, Brazil) recorded an 86.55-point ride on Iron Skillet in the fourth for Austin’s third and final ride. Down three bulls to one, Vinicius Rodrigues Pereira (Itapagipe, Brazil) recorded his first career PBR Teams qualified ride for 85.8 points on Stacked Deck to put Florida just one ride behind. With 91.25 points needed to put Florida ahead, Ethan Winckler (Winnie, Texas) took on Sissys Surprise for the Freedom, but came up short in the comeback attempt with a 87.65-point score.
Missouri defeated the Texas Rattlers (11-9) 171.85-0 for their third straight victory, punctuated by leadoff man Rossetto’s 13th consecutive ride – this one aboard Me More Cowboy for 87.7 points to tie Leme for the longest streak in PBR Teams history. Julio Cesar Marques (Tatuí, São Paulo, Brazil) rode Walk The Line for 84.15 points in the third frame for Missouri’s second ride, celebrating with his signature backflip off the rear of the safety man’s horse onto the dirt.
The New York Mavericks (5-15) stunned the Carolina Cowboys (12-8) with a 266.4-91 victory to close the weekend. Carolina was first on the board as Thiago Salgado (Naviraí, Brazil) scored a monster 91-point ride on Fury, the only points for the Cowboys. New York’s Leandro Zampollo (Pirassununga, São Paulo, Brazil) responded with an 89.05-point ride on King Cobra in the next out. Bob Mitchell (Steelville, Mo.) gave the Mavericks the lead in the third with 87.25 points on Andy Frisella’s Screaming Freedom. Marco Rizzo (Quitman, Ga.), the 2026 PBR Rookie of the Year, recorded 90.1 points on Rankenstein in the fifth frame to seal the victory for New York.
King Tut was the high-marked bull of the event, recording the highest bull score of the season with 46.7 points, bucking off Sandro Batista in 2.11 seconds in the first game on Sunday.
