Texas Rattlers
Jean Carlos Teodoro arrived in Texas with remarkable strength, natural talent and the determination to make his mark on professional bull riding. Hailing from Mirante do Paranapanema, São Paulo, Brazil, Teodoro quickly caught the attention of PBR co-founder and Texas Rattlers head coach Cody Lambert, who recognized his potential and began helping him refine his technique. Lambert's recipe for success was simple — focus, posture and commitment — three qualities that would help turn the promising Brazilian newcomer into one of the league's rising stars.
After previously spending time with the Arizona Ridge Riders, Teodoro signed with the Texas Rattlers as an unrestricted free agent on June 30, 2026. He wasted little time making an impression, delivering a 90.40-point ride aboard Yosemite Sam during the season-opening event in Fort Collins, Colorado, securing a victory over the rival Austin Gamblers. As the season progressed, Teodoro continued developing his riding mechanics and confidence, combining his natural athleticism with the discipline needed to compete at the highest level.
With guidance from Lambert, assistant coach Brady Oleson and Brazilian veterans João Ricardo Vieira and Claudio Montanha Jr., Teodoro began hitting his stride. He delivered an 88.10-point ride aboard Corriente in Fort Worth before producing one of his biggest moments of the season in Kansas City, conquering Wicked Solo for a career-best 91.05 points and another Rattlers victory. His impressive rookie campaign ultimately earned him the 2026 PBR Teams Rookie of the Year title, edging out fellow Brazilian Winy dos Santos of the Oklahoma Wildcatters in a closely contested race that came down to the final regular-season weekend.
Off the dirt, Teodoro is known for his relentless work ethic, physical fitness and eagerness to improve. Oleson describes him as one of the team's hardest workers, practicing weekly and keeping pace with the conditioning and toughness of veterans Vieira and Montanha. Surrounded by experienced Brazilian teammates, Teodoro has embraced his role within the Rattlers locker room while continuing to improve his English and adjust to life in the United States. With two 90-point rides, a Rookie of the Year title and a championship-caliber team behind him, Teodoro has already accomplished plenty in his first season with Texas, but with room to grow and more lessons to learn, the possibilities are only beginning to unfold.
