No. 1 Missouri Thunder Advance Lead Atop PBR Teams Standings to Four Games via Win Against Carolina Cowboys.
By James Youness
GLENDALE, ARIZ. – The hometown Arizona Ridge Riders (14-15) rode two bulls to complete a perfect 3-0 showing during their homestand at Desert Diamond Arena by upsetting the No. 3 Nashville Stampede (17-12) 175.70-88 to conclude PBR Teams: Ridge Rider Days presented by Energy Transfer in Glendale, Arizona Saturday.
Everton Natan da Silva (Viradouro, Brazil) ensured the hometown audience was cheering early by going the distance atop Holy Shift for 88.15 points and granting the Ridge Riders a hot start, now successful in 12 of his last 15 outs. Rogério Venâncio (Paranaita, Brazil) battled the Stampede within .15 points following the cowboy’s 88-point ride on Sky Diamond in the top of the third. The tight contest witnessed just one more conversion, as Arizona native Cody Jesus(Window Rock, Arizona) provided an exclamation mark in the bottom of the fifth to solidify the perfect weekend.
“This is really special for us. We were struggling coming in here to get some wins and now we just stacked three in a row. I don’t know, but that sounds pretty consistent to me,” Arizona Ridge Riders Head Coach Colby Yates said on the CW broadcast.
“I’m so proud of this team to be able to knock it out of the park, especially on that last ride. Cody Jesus showed exactly what Cody Jesus is made of right there.”
Arizona surpassed the Texas Rattlers (14-15) to occupy the No. 5 rank Saturday, owning the tiebreaker in season-long aggregate team score.
The No. 1 Missouri Thunder (21-8) rode two bulls to defeat the Carolina Cowboys (17-12) and extend their lead atop the PBR Teams standings to four games with just six games separating squads from the 2026 PBR Teams Championship, as the league’s postseason tournament is set to take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Nov. 6-8.
During Saturday’s second game, the No. 2 Austin Gamblers (17-12) bounced back into the win column by riding two bulls to defeat the New York Mavericks (11-18) and concluded the weekend 1-2 in Glendale. Three-time PBR World Champion Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil) extended his lead atop the PBR Teams MVP race over Paulo Eduardo Rossetto (Colorado, Brazil) to 181.15 points by earning an 88.30-point score dancing with Flossin as Austin’s lead-off man. Sage Steele Kimzey (Strong City, Oklahoma) parlayed Leme’s conversion with his own qualified ride in the bottom of the second, scored 89.55 points aboard Cookie as the Gamblers were rolling early. Marco Rizzo (Quitman, Georgia) spared the Mavericks from a no-score effort in the bottom of the fifth, marked 88.65 points on Walk The Line, but the Mavericks dropped the 177.85-88.65 decision and while falling to 1-2 at Ridge Rider Days.
The Oklahoma Wildcatters (10-19) rode four bulls to record a franchise-best 352.90-point, 4-for-5 victory over the Florida Freedom (11-18) and end the team’s six-game losing streak. Eduardo Matos (Emilianópolis, Brazil) advanced to 15-for-29 this season in the top of the first by getting the Wildcatters on the board via a successful dance with J Lazy S (87.10). Winy dos Santos (Loanda, Brazil) added 87.70 to Oklahoma’s aggregate in the bottom of the third to set up a clinching scenario for teammate Brock Poulin (Sulphur, Oklahoma). Poulin accepted the high-pressure scenario and rode with it by recording the first 90-point ride of his career (91.90) aboard The Paint to secure the win for Oklahoma. Yet, it was Alex Marcilio (Macaubal, Brazil) who put the finishing touches on the Wildcatters’ highest-scoring performance to date via 86.10 points atop Tijuana Two-Step during a late-game re-ride. Murilo Henrique de Oliveira (Pereira Barreto, Brazil) provided Florida’s lone conversion (85.95 on Dirty Honey) as the Freedom fell to 1-2 at Desert Diamond Arena. Oklahoma also exited Ridge Riders Days with a 1-2 record.
The Carolina Cowboys fell to 1-2 Saturday. Two-time PBR World Champion Jess Lockwood (Volborg, Montana) continued his hot streak for Carolina by extending his qualified ride streak to five-straight after going the distance aboard Mayor of Hogeye for 86.45 points in the top of the first. Paulo Eduardo Rossetto reduced Leme’s lead atop the PBR Teams MVP race to 91.60 points following the lead-off rider’s 89.55-point ride atop Boomtown in the bottom of the first to claim the lead for Missouri. Felipe Furlan (Sales Oliveira, Brazil) matched Fury step-for-step en route to earning 89.65 points and pushing the Thunder ahead one bull score in the bottom of the third. Despite Clay Guiton (Cherryville, North Carolina) besting his re-ride bull Bowser (89.15), the Thunder captured the 179.20-175.60 final to earn Missouri’s franchise record-setting 21st win of the season.
The Kansas City Outlaws (13-16) completed their 3-0 showcase by riding three bulls to defeat the Texas Rattlers, who ended the weekend 0-3 at Desert Diamond Arena. Head Coach Cody Lambert elected to have Daniel Keeping(Montague, Texas) kick things off for the Rattlers Saturday night and the move proved instant dividends for Texas, as Keeping began the night with an 88.85-point ride aboard Bad Bob. Sandro Batista (Pedra Preta, Brazil) recorded his fourth-straight qualified ride by besting Young Buck (86.55) in the bottom of the first to complete his perfect 3-for-3 weekend. Operating in the No. 2 spot for the first time since 2023, Brady Fielder (Clermont, Australia) went the distance atop Hay Walker (86.45) to double down on the Rattlers’ hot start before Bruno Carvalho (Alvares Florence, Brazil) ended his eight-out buckoff streak by riding Dead Red for 87.50 points to bring the Outlaws within 1.25 points in the bottom of the third. However, Hayden Welsh (Gillette, Wyoming) exploded onto the scoresheet for a game-winning 89.30 points on Ghost Face in the bottom of the fourth to grant Kansas City their fourth-straight win and sixth victory in the team’s last seven games.
Wicked Intentions was the high-marked bull of the event with 47.40 points, forcing Gustavo Luiz da Silva into a touch at 4.55 seconds during Saturday’s final game. The bull score ties Fire Zone’s 47.40 points from last weekend for the highest score of the 2026 PBR Teams season.
PBR Teams will resume action at PBR Teams: Go Bowling Maverick Days at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York, Oct. 16-18. Tickets are available to purchase at ticketmaster.com and PBR.com.
